Project Title: Psychosocial Support Training of local youth in Jajarkot - Earthquake Response and Early Recovery Project in Karnali Province 2023

On November 3, 2023, a strong 6.4 magnitude earthquake devastated Jajarkot and West Rukum, Nepal. It caused severe damage, injuries, loss of life, and displacement, among other casualties. The affected population's emotional well-being was significantly affected by the disaster.  Kadambari Memorial College (KMC) and Youth Awareness Raising Centre Nepal (YARCN) Jajarkot collaborated to carry out the "Earthquake Response and Early Recovery Project in Karnali Province 2023." The objective of this project was to train local youth in Jajarkot and West Rukum. It was funded by Caritas Germany, Caritas Australia, CRS, Misereor, and Caritas Nepal.

Psychosocial support training sessions were conducted in Jajarkot from January 26 to January 31, 2024, to train local youth about Psychosocial support (PSS) techniques and skills. Two trainers Ms. Rupa and Ms. Neha from KMC were sent to Jajarkot to provide the young people there with Psychosocial support (PSS) training. The on-the-job module was followed in the training program to train trainees to engage in concurrent teaching and learning activities. Two Bachelor of Social Work graduates, Ms.Rupa K.C and Neha K.C provided the training under the supervision of the Kadambari Centre of Research, Development and Innovation ( CRDI ).
