Kadambari Memorial College (KMC) hosts two International Student Programs: 1. International Study Tour: Students are hosted short term, his duration of the program dependent on the requirement of the University abroad. The KMC faculty can work with international partners to develop an itinerary that provides learning opportunities for students and meets international assessment requirements. KMC hosted a successful study tour in 2016 with students from Griffith University, Australia. The group participated in a 21day program, engaging in micro, mezzo and macro aspects of social work in Nepal. The learning for many in the group was described as a life changing experience Watch the video they produced "Namaste" in our Video Gallery 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZluSYncmzc). 2. International Social Work Student Fieldwork: KMC hosts social work placement for social work students around the globe according to their university requirement. KMC provides orientation and management of the students’ fieldwork experience, liaising with local NGO’s/INGO’s to provide practice opportunities. Social Work awaits recognition as a profession in Nepal; however, this provides students with the unique opportunity to gain insight into the intersectionality of political, social and cultural factors that influence their profession evolving in another cultural context. KMC recognises that, in an increasingly globalising world, social work students and educators now need to have international perspectives in their practice. The faculty at KMC look forward to continuing to work with Universities abroad to contribute to students’ knowledge and skills in this essential aspect of their learning.
